I welcome you to this home for the Nimcaale community — a place to remember who we are, care for the towns that raised us, and stay close across Somalia and the Diaspora.

Our strength has always been unity: elders and youth, people at home and people abroad, working with patience for clean water, schools, health, roads, and livelihoods. May this hub help us organize with care, honor our heritage, and build what families need.

Who we are

Nimcaale — pronounced Nim’aale — is a Somali community with deep roots along the coast and inland, especially across Mudug and the towns that have shaped family life for generations. This website is our shared home online: a place to feel welcome, remember our story, and take part in building what comes next.

We exist to strengthen daily life for Nimcaale families through volunteer-led development — clean water, schools, health, roads, power, farming, and livelihoods — while keeping heritage and belonging at the center.

Our history

Across generations, Nimcaale members have contributed to Somali public life, culture, scholarship, and nation-building — from independence-era leadership to regional governance, diplomacy, music, and education. Those stories are part of how we understand service and pride.

Today that same spirit turns toward wells, classrooms, clinics, roads, and livelihoods. Preserving heritage and building infrastructure are two sides of staying whole as a people.

Where we call home

Many families are rooted in towns such as Hobyo, Budbud, Raas Cabaad, Bitaale, Afbarwaaqo, Dajimaale, and Galkayo. Nimcaale members also live across Puntland, Hiiran, Banadir, South Central, and Jubbaland — and in Diaspora communities around the world.
